A light-brown, vintage Mid-Century modern writing desk made of hand crafted polished Walnut, designed and produced by Silvio Cavatorta in good condition. The small freestanding writing table is composed with a drawer, enhanced by detailed polished brass handles, pulls. The office table is supported by a black painted metal frame, standing on four long slanted legs. Wear consistent with age and use. Circa 1940 - 1950, Rome, Italy.

The family company Cavatorta was established in 1869, in Rome, Italy by Eugenio Cavatorta. The company was specialized in producing only small and exclusive series. The furniture was designed for each specific commission. In 1930, Eugenio Cavatorta son, Silvio Cavatorta took the company over and later on transferred it to Franco Cavatorta. Today, Cavatorta’s furniture remains highly sought after.
