20th Century Italian Lotus Mazzega Murano Glass Table Lamp by Carlo Nason

A large, single vintage Mid-Century modern Italian table lamp made of hand blown Pulegoso Murano glass, designed by Carlo Nason for Mazzega in good condition. The detailed slightly frosted lighting are in the shape of a lotus, resting on a round, black lacquered metal base, each of them is composed with one light socket. Model Nr. LT305. The wires have been renewed. Minor fading, scratches due to age. Wear consistent with age and use. Circa 1960 - 1970, Italy.

Carlo Nason is an Italian lighting designer, born in 1934, in Murano, Italy. He was born into one of the oldest glass-making families, during his childhood he devolved and learned the passion, technique in designing and producing high-end glass lighting. At the beginning of his career, he worked for a family owned company, V. Nason & C. From 1965 to 1980, Nason designed and produced for AV Mazzega.
AV Mazzega is an Italian company founded in 1946, in Murano, Italy by Angelo Vittorio Mazzega. Mazzega is a family owned lighting company, glass factory, specialized in creating, designing unique Murano glass lamps. Well-known artist and manufactures have worked and designed for Mazzega, such as Carlo Nason, Christophe Pillet, Barovier & Toso, Antichi Angeli, etc. To this day, the Mazzega brand is still a benchmark in the Italian lighting history.
