Hans J. Wegner

Hans J. Wegner (1914-2007) was a Danish furniture designer famous for his iconic mid-century modern designs. Trained as a cabinetmaker, Wegner's work was characterized by clean lines, organic forms, and an obsession with detail. Using natural materials like wood and leather, he created furniture that was both functional and aesthetically pleasing. Wegner's best-known works include the Wishbone Chair, the Shell Chair, and the CH24 Chair, aka the "Y Chair". Though he passed away in 2007, his designs continue to be celebrated for their innovation and timeless appeal.
