20th Century French Pair of Modern Vintage Beechwood Armchairs by Baumann France

A pair of vintage low Mid-Century modern French armchairs made of hand crafted polished Beechwood and Bentwood, designed and produced by Baumann France in good condition. The detailed sculptural lounge chairs have a wide, curved backrest with slim, outstretched armrests, standing on four round wooden legs. Newly upholstered in a light-grey cotton fabric. Wear consistent with age and use. Circa 1950 - 1960, France.

Baumann France was French / Swiss furniture manufacturer founded in 1901, in France by the Swiss sculptor and designer Emile Baumann. At the start, they were designing chairs for children and later on, they started to design and produce different kinds of furniture, such has dining, living room chairs. Each of them had a singular, sculptural design.
Emile Baumann was a Swiss born furniture designer, born in Switzerland and passed most likely in France. Baumann's personal life and professional training remains lost in history.
