20th Century Italian Painted Walnut Dresser in the style of Piero Fornasetti

A white-black, vintage Mid-Century modern Italian dresser, chest made of hand crafted lacquered, painted Walnut in the style of Piero Fornasetti in good condition. The front side of the commode is particularized with architectural renderings. The cabinet, cupboard is composed with six drawers and a polished brass handle, pull supported by a wooden frame, standing on four curved legs. Wear consistent with age and use. Circa 1960, Milan, Italy.
Piero Fornasetti was an Italian painter, decorative artist and designer born in 1913, in Milan, Italy and passed away in 1988. Fornasetti enrolled at The Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera and The Castello Sforzesco, in Milan but was expelled from both places for disobedience. During his life time, he continued to study and read. During the early 1930's, he started to learn the engraving and printing techniques. Thanks to his daily practice and ability, Fornasetti was able to learn and work with well known Italian artist and designers such as Alberto Savinio, Fabrizio Clerici and Gio Ponti.
