20th Century Danish Modern Mahogany Dining Table by Kaare Klint & Rud. Rasmussen

A vintage Mid-Century modern Danish dining room table made of hand crafted polished Cuban Mahogany designed by Kaare Klint for Rud. Rasmussen, in good condition. The large rectangular conference table is standing on four long wooden legs. Manufacturer label underneath. Model Nr. 17782. Minor fading, scratches due to age. Wear consistent with age and use. Circa 1950 - 1960, Copenhagen, Denmark, Scandinavia.

Kaare Klint was a Danish architect and designer born in 1888, in Frederiksberg, Denmark and passed away in 1954. Klint is known as the father of Modern Danish Furniture Design. He was the son of the equally influenced designer Peder Vihelm Jensen-Klint. Hestarted his apprentice in 1893, as a furniture maker in Kalundborg, Denmark. Klint's work is known as functionality, proportions adapted to the human body and the use of high quality materials, based on his research.

Rud. Rasmussen also known as Rud. Rasmussens Snedkerier was a Danish furniture manufacturer founded in 1869, in Copenhagen, Denmark on the well-known, principal shopping street Nørrebrogade by Rudolph Rasmussen with some of the most famous, leading Danish designers of the 20th Century.
