A vintage Mid-Century modern Italian set of four wall sconces, appliques made of hand crafted painted aluminum, brass and satin glass, produced by Stilnovo in good condition. The frosted glass shade is supported by a straight metal arm, each features a single light socket. The wires have been renewed. Wear consistent with age and use. Circa 1940 - 1950, Milan, Italy.

Stilnovo was an Italian lighting and design company founded in 1946, in Milan by the well-known Italian designer Bruno Gatta. During the Mid-Century Modern era the Stilnovo brand was one of the most pioneered lighting design companies in Italy, also known as the Stilnovo Period. Well-known artists have worked and designed for Stilnovo, such as the Italian architect and designer Pier Giacomo Castiglioni and Joe Cesare Colombo, etc. To this day, the Stilnovo brand is still a benchmark in the Italian lighting history.
