Cristal Art

Cristal Art was an Italian glass company founded in Turin in 1944, continuing the tradition of Albano Marcario’s glass works. Under the artistic direction of Piero Monti and Giuseppe Raimondi, the brand quickly became a symbol of innovation and refined style. Throughout the postwar decades, Cristal Art combined traditional glassmaking skills with the influence of industrial design and contemporary art, creating elegant pieces that appealed to an international audience. The company specialized in silvered mirrors, sculptural tables, and stylish glass designs that reflected both modern trends and timeless craftsmanship. Many of its creations carried a distinctly Cristal Art Deco spirit, where bold geometric shapes, reflective surfaces, and luxurious details came together in harmony. This aesthetic made their furniture and decorative objects highly sought after among collectors and design enthusiasts. Although Cristal Art closed its doors in 1996 after the passing of founder Giovanni Donna, its legacy continues to thrive. Authentic works by the company remain prized in auctions and prestigious interiors, admired for their balance of artistic innovation and functional beauty. Today, Cristal Art mirrors, consoles, and glass furnishings are celebrated as icons of twentieth-century Italian design, embodying a unique dialogue between tradition and modernity.
