A sculptural, vintage Mid-Century modern American pair of Taliesin floor lamps made of hand crafted Walnut, designed by Frank Lloyd Wright for Yamagiwa, in good condition. Each of the detailed lights are composed with ten blocks climb in geometrical sequence around a central column, resting on a square shape wooden base. Each of them is featuring a one light socket. The wires have been renewed. Wear consistent with age and use. Circa 1955, United States.

The original design of the Taliesin II floor lamp was in 1933, when Frank Lloyd Wright transformed the existing gymnasium of his Hillside Home School, in Spring Green, Wisconsin into a theater.

Frank Lloyd Wright was an American architect, designer, writer and educator born in 1867, in Richland Center, in Wisconsin, United States and passed away in 1959. During his active career years, he has designed more than 1,ooo structures. Wright was an innovator of the Prairie School movement of architecture ( late 19th Century architectural design, typical characteristics are horizontal lines, flat or hipped roofs ). In 1886, at the age of 19, he started to study and work under the civil engineering professor Allan D. Conniver at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, but he never left with a degree.

Yamagiwa is a Japanese wholesale distributor and a lighting design company founded in 1923, in Tokyo, Japan. In 1955, they started to work together with the American architect Frank Lloyd Wright, to design and create products, such as the Taliesin lights.
