20th Century Light-Brown German Pair of Beechwood Easy Chairs by Wilhelm Knoll

A light-brown, vintage Mid-Century modern German pair of easy chairs made of hand carved Beechwood, designed by Wilhelm Knoll and produced by Walter Knoll from the Antimott series, in good condition. The slightly curved lounge chairs have an open backrest with arched, slim armrests standing on four curved wooden legs. Wear consistent with age and use. Circa 1950 - 1960, Stuttgart, Germany.

Wilhelm Knoll, called Willy was a German furniture designer born in Germany and passed away in Germany. He was the son of Wilhelm Knoll. His personal life and professional training remains lost in history.
Walter Knoll is a German furniture manufacturer founded in 1865, in Stuttgart, Germany by Wilhelm Knoll. The are know for the high quality, elegant designs. The founders personal life and professional training remains lost in history. In 1907, his sons Willy and Water took over the company, business and started producing, designing seating. They introduced the first club armchair in Germany. Later on, in 1930's Walter founded his own company Walter Knoll & Co. GmbH.
