20th Century Swedish Örsjö Polished Brass Table Lamp, Light by Helmer Andersson

A vintage Mid-Century modern Swedish table lamp made of hand crafted polished brass, designed by Helmer Andersson and produce by Örsjö in good condition. The detailed Scandinavian light is composed with a round, open top hand blown polished glass shade. The outside of the shade is polished with grey pattern, lines. The glass shade is supported by a double brass arm, stem imitating an antique oil lamp. Model ÖLA-TYP S N D. The wires have been renewed. Wear consistent with age and use. Circa 1960 – 1970, Småland, southern Sweden, Scandinavia.

Helmer Andersson was a Swedish designer and production manager of the lighting manufacture, company Örsjö. He started working in 1960's to design kerosene-style lamps and the classic Edward lamp. Andersson's personal life and professional training remains lost in history.
Örsjö Industri AB is a Swedish lighting manufacturer founded in 1948, in Småland, southern Sweden by Simon Jonsson, Sture Jonsson and Edwin Thorén. Circa 1952, they started working, designing for IKEA to devolve a range of lightings for the consumer market, first they launched wall lamps and late table lamps and ceiling lights. Today, Örsjö stands for timeless, excellent quality lighting designs.
