Carl Fagerlund
Carl Fagerlund (1915-2011) was a Swedish designer who gained recognition for his work in lighting design. He started his career as a glassblower at the Orrefors glassworks in Sweden before moving to the Swedish lighting company Lyfa in the 1940s. Fagerlund's innovative use of glass and metal and his ability to create functional and visually stunning lighting fixtures made him the company's chief designer, responsible for some of Lyfa's most iconic pieces, such as the "Monica" and "Lily" lamps. Today, his designs are highly sought after by collectors and continue to be produced by companies such as Orrefors and Ateljé Lyktan.
