1970s Italian Square Opaline Glass Chandelier in the Style of Stilnovo

A vintage Mid-Century modern Italian square chandelier, pendant made of hand blown frosted opaline glass, designed and produced most likely by Stilnovo in good condition. Each glass shade of the detailed ceiling light, lamp is halted by a short perforate brass arm, supported by a large polished frame, hanging on four long arms. The fixture is composed with a twenty light socket. The wires have been renewed. Wear consistent with age and use. Circa 1970, Italy.

Stilnovo was an Italian lighting and design company founded in 1946 in Milan by the well-known Italian designer Bruno Gatta. During the Mid-Century Modern era the Stilnovo brand was one of the most pioneered lighting design companies in Italy, also known as the Stilnovo Period. Well-known artists have worked and designed for Stilnovo, such as the Italian architect and designer Pier Giacomo Castiglioni and Joe Cesare Colombo, etc. To this day, the Stilnovo brand is still a benchmark in the Italian lighting history.
