20th Century Italian Frosted Opaline Glass Floor Lamp Attributed to Stilnovo

A vintage Mid-Century modern Italian floor lamp made of hand crafted metal and polished brass attributed to Stilnovo, in good condition. The detailed light is composed with three round cylindrical, frosted opaline glass shades. Each of the glass lights are halted by a painted metal arm, supported by a long curved brass stem, and feature a single light socket. The lamp has a round grey marble base. The wires have been renewed. Wear consistent with age and use. Circa 1950 - 1960, Milan, Italy.

Stilnovo was an Italian lighting and design company founded in 1946, in Milan by the well-known Italian designer Bruno Gatta. During the Mid-Century Modern era the Stilnovo brand was one of the most pioneered lighting design companies in Italy, also known as the Stilnovo Period. Well-known artists have worked and designed for Stilnovo, such as the Italian architect and designer Pier Giacomo Castiglioni and Joe Cesare Colombo, etc. To this day, the Stilnovo brand is still a benchmark in the Italian lighting history.
