20th Century Lilac Italian Set of Murano Glass Vases by Luigi Caccia Dominioni

A dark-lilac, vintage Mid-Century Modern Italian set of vases made of hand blown colored, smoked Murano glass in good condition. The tall vase and the round one were designed by Luigi Caccia Dominioni and produced by Azucena. Wear consistent with age and use. Circa 1970 - 1980, Venice, Italy.

Round vase: 11" H x 11" diameter
Cylindrical vase: 14.5" H x 9.5" diameter

Luigi Caccia Dominioni was an Italian architect and furniture designer, born in 1913, in Milan, Italy and passed away in 2016. After he finished his studies at The Polytechnic University of Milan, in 1936 he opened his studio with two friends. After the Second World War, he started his second company Azucena, which was specialized in creating and designing high end furniture, lamps and door handles. Durning his career he designed many buildings in Milan, such the internal of The Biblioteca Ambrosiana.

Azucena is an Italian furniture and lighting manufacturer, founded in 1947 by the architects Luigi Caccia Dominioni, Ignazio Gardella and Corrado Corradi Dell’Acqua. They are specialized in creating and designing high end products using the best qualities which were available at that time. During Dominioni’s time the also have designed many building in Milan.
